Shooting some HOOP!

All classes at MDE have been busy playing, shooting and doing tricks with balls.  These activities use lots of eye-hand coordination, crossing the mid-line of the body (brain based learning) and concentration.  We started off by dribbling all different sizes of balls, graduated to tricks like the figure eight around the legs and finally we began shooting the ball with the correct form.  The younger kids learn by saying the words: Bend-Pizza-Push-Snap.  A few third graders said after the snap the hand looks like a goose's neck.  Well, Alright.  I love it when I can learn something from my students.  Have a Healthy Day by covering your cough!

Thank  you for signing up to the MDE HF blog.

  1. It was neat to witness the excitement of students make a basket for the first time. I also enjoyed watching students really learn the importance of nailing down their form when shooting a basketball. What is a Gym Jam?
